Washington Update

June 30, 2023

Not satisfied with your stoves, “unelected manbunned bureaucrats” are coming for your pizza now.

“Unelected manbunned bureaucrats”. That was the termed we coined this week – in a flash of inspiration as we were called on to appear on the Sean Hannity radio program on Wednesday with Scott LoBaido the New-York Pizza Party rebel.

One thing about anti-energy activists is that they are relentless and in places like New York City, they run the government. As the New York Post reported, New York City wants to impose more regulations on coal- and wood-fired pizzerias. This dramatically increases the costs of coal- and wood-fired pizzerias.

These regulations will likely not have any appreciable impact on air quality in New York City, but that’s not really the point—the point is to stop the use of energy in ways the bureaucrats don’t like.

By the way, thank goodness for CNN for riding to the rescue and helping New York City out with its messaging on these regulations. CNN says, “Despite the uproar, it’s a fairly lenient proposal.” Thanks, CNN. What would the manbunned bureaucrats do without your help?
