If you cast your vote for the Trump/Vance ticket last November, as I did, you voted for populism and tariffs, not conservatism and free trade. Neither Trump nor Vance made any bones about their intent to pursue an aggressive tariff policy if elected, and to end the days of America being the “piggy bank to the rest of the world,” as they often put it.
