Wednesday's Absurdity: AP Claims that the Flu Took An "Unusual Year Off" Last Winter

Honestly, some days it just doesn’t pay to monitor what we in America refer to the “news” these days. The level of utter and complete corruption in the U.S. news media now just defies all ability to comprehend or believe.

In a story published late Monday, the hacks at the Associated Press wrote the following headline:

Flu is making a comeback in US after an unusual year off

Swear to God, that’s exactly what it says. Here is the link.

The story, which the AP hilariously files under its Health/Science section, is written by someone named Carla K. Johnson, whose expertise on the subject is not identified. So presumably, she’s just another fake journalist agent of the Democrat party.

Here is an excerpt from the story - try to read it without laughing out so loudly that you frighten the neighbors:

The U.S. flu season has arrived on schedule after taking a year off, with flu hospitalizations rising and two child deaths reported.

Last year’s flu season was the lowest on record, likely because COVID-19 measures — school closures, distancing, masks and canceled travel — prevented the spread of influenza, or because the coronavirus somehow pushed aside other viruses.

“This is setting itself up to be more of a normal flu season,” said Lynnette Brammer, who tracks flu-like illnesses for the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The childhood deaths, Brammer said, are “unfortunately what we would expect when flu activity picks up. It’s a sad reminder of how severe flu can be.”

During last year’s unusually light flu season, one child died. In contrast, 199 children died from flu two years ago, and 144 the year before that.

One key aspect of clinging to leftist ideology requires that comrades and fellow travelers pretend not to know things that they innately know to be true. Like the fact that the flu most certainly did not take a year off last winter: Its infections and deaths were virtually all counted as “COVID” by our utterly corrupt government in order to inflate those statistics to help create public panic instead. That reality is obvious on its face, and only a damn fool would claim that a virus just took a full year’s vacation in print.

But hey, Ms. Johnson is a “journalist,” so “damn fool” is a key job qualification.

Honestly, you just could never make this stuff up, folks. Not in a million billion quadzillion years.
