Michael Starr Hopkins bills himself as a “communications expert,” and lists his experience as having worked on campaigns for the likes of Hillary Clinton and Barack Hussein Obama His Own Self. He also boasts of having served as the national press secretary for the presidential campaign of [checks notes] someone named John Delaney.
I looked Delaney up, and it turns out he was an obscure congressman from [checks notes] Maryland who was actually the first of 25 or so Democrats to announce his candidacy for the presidency for the 2020 campaign. Go figure.
Anyway, Michael Starr Hopkin is an occasional contributor at the far-leftwing Daily Beast, and yesterday, he got an op/ed piece published at slightly less far-leftwing The Hill.
In that piece, Michael Starr Hopkins (you must use all three names, kind of like Lee Harvey Oswald) becomes an early booster for an AOC presidency, claiming she among all other potential Democrat candidates would have the best shot at beating Donald Trump should he become the Republican nominee in 2024.
It’s a silly, ridiculous piece, but make no mistake about this: It is a narrative that you are going to see being adopted by more and more Democrat activists in the corrupt news media as the 2024 campaign approaches.
Here’s an excerpt from the Michael Starr Hopkins story:
When Barack Obama came out of nowhere to win his Senate seat in 2004, it almost felt preordained. As if he was the person we had been waiting for to breathe fresh air into the Democratic Party.
Flash forward to 2018, and the meteoric rise of a 29-year-old bartender from Queens feels eerily similar. She has been unafraid, unapologetic and unwilling to bend to the will of Washington. She is a force to be reckoned with, and in 2024 Democrats are going to need her force to reckon with Republicans.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) is less of a personality and more of a movement. Yes, the smart, photogenic congresswoman is the face of the rising progressive movement, but she is also the future of the Democratic Party. AOC has cultivated a following beyond politics. She’s an influencer in its purest form. Her ability to relate to her supporters and allow them a glimpse into her private life is a blueprint for Democrats trying to act less like mannequins and more like humans.
She’s the voice of a movement that began after the banks were bailed out by the government, while homeowners were left to default. The simplicity with which she talks about everyday struggles hints that she’s not just a persona for consumption. She isn’t beholden to corporations, is a prodigious small-dollar fundraiser, and could out-Trump Trump like no other politician has been able to.
If Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) is the Godfather, Ocasio-Cartez is Michael Corleone. As the architect of Medicare for All, a $15 minimum wage and numerous other programs that are now mainstream, Bernie’s place in history has already been solidified. While Sanders may disagree with some of the progressives in his caucus, his worth carries major weight. Bernie passing the torch to AOC and recruiting her to run for president would be bold and would strengthen and solidify her base of supporters before she even gets out of the gate.
…
There will never be another Barack Obama, but I have a feeling we’ll be saying the same about AOC. When opportunity meets preparation and history creates the moment, the cream of the crop always rises, leaving everyone else behind.
[End]
To which I say, oh hell, why not?
The Democrat party, after all, has saddled our country with a 79 year-old weirdo reprobate who doesn’t know where he is half the time, with predictably disastrous results. That weirdo reprobate will be 81 years old in 2024, so why not trade him in for a 34 year-old weirdo lunatic who would inevitably produce even more disastrous results in the presidency?
That sounds like a totally credible Democrat party plan to me - how about you?
As Michael Starr Hopkins says, there will [thankfully] never be another Barack Hussein Obama His Own Self, and I agree that we will all be saying the same about AOC. Hell, I’ve already been saying it for several years now.
In fact, I’ve been warning you about this eventuality of the corrupt media pushing AOC for the presidency for the couple of years. It is inevitable, and has been inevitable since the moment she was elected to congress.
An AOC presidential nomination is in fact the ultimate inevitable outcome for the 193-year progression of the Democrat party. An increasingly-shallow-minded, increasingly-Marxist-leaning political party is bound to nominate the most shallow-minded Marxist candidate available sooner or later.
Whether that outcome arrives in 2024 or 2028 or even 2032 at the outside, it is an inevitability. Michael Starr Hopkins is not any kind of outlier among the Democrat activists posing as journalists in today’s corrupt media: Quite the contrary. He’s just an early adopter of a media boosting campaign that is bound to come.
I’m willing to bet that, within the next 60-90 days, we will see similar AOC boosting pieces popping up in other Democrat propaganda media megaphones, like the New York Times, Washington Post and The Atlantic.
It’s an easy bet, because it is just an inevitability.
That is all.
Oh, David, you’ve ruined my morning coffee with this article. I trust your insight, but AOC has no redeeming qualities, which I suppose makes her the perfect Dimocrat candidate. Geo Soros put AOC & all the other Squad Members in office & we all know creating chaos in America is & has always been his goal. In saying this I believe I’ve confirmed your prediction. Geez
I can't believe the dems can be that demented!! If they think she would make a good president, God
help us. Love your take on everything.
