Wednesday's Wonderful Absurdities: Kamala Harris is Seriously Serious about Seriousness

A funny thing happened at the New York Times on Independence Day. The “newspaper of record” is now so woke that it dispensed with its 99-year tradition of printing the Declaration of Independence on July 4 each year.

But the omission received so much pushback from readers and former employees that NYTimes management relented and published the document in full, but a day late. Guess what they blamed it on?

Oh, but wait: The EU government actually did stumble into a serious bit of energy policy sanity on Tuesday:

This is a seriously huge development, in that it flies directly in the face of the goals of the ESG investment community that has been so successful in obstructing investment in nuclear and fossil fuel energy over the last 15 years. This new EU policy will now allow nuclear and natural gas projects greater access to capital as it removes penalties that have foolishly been imposed on lenders in the past.

This move also flies directly in the face of the direction of Biden’s Green New Deal policies, so it will be interesting to see if it ultimately has any follow-on impact in the United States. Seriously.

Speaking of seriously foolish energy policy, Preacher Pete Buttigieg, our seriously childish Transportation Secretary, joined Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm in un-serious guffawing about super-seriously high gasoline prices on national TV yesterday:
