Wednesday's Wonderful Absurdities: DeSantis Takes the Tucker Carlson Path and the World Freaks Out About it
For better or worse, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis will announce his candidacy for the presidency tonight via a livestream hosted on Twitter by Elon Musk. In going this route, DeSantis eschews the normal paint-by-numbers mode of announcing a presidential candidacy.
That normal mode was taken by South Carolina Senator Tim Scott a few days ago. It involves assembling a friendly audience of supporters in some handy space like a high school gymnasium or civic event center, inviting corrupt legacy media to attend, and having the candidate give a rousing speech for which everyone is instructed to wildly yell and applaud at just the right moments. It’s a method designed to create a sense of excitement about the candidate even when no real excitement exists. You know, like with Asa Hutchinson’s candidacy.
Naturally, all the Democrat agents in the corrupt legacy media were horrified by the DeSantis strategy of bypassing them entirely, although pleased that it does give them an opportunity to take ridiculous cheap shots at not one, but two of their favorite boogeymen simultaneously.
