Wednesday's World of Absurdities: Biden's Messed, Twitter's Stressed and CNN+ Tests its New Owners
This bird was speaking for all of us when he did this on Tuesday:
Wouldn’t we all just love to have that opportunity? I’m so jealous of birds.
In that speech, the senile old White House Weirdo announced that, amid all the global fears of looming food shortages and third-world starvation flying around, he’s authorizing the EPA to give makers of corn ethanol a waiver that will allow them to use more…you guessed it…FOOD to make fuel with this summer, creating more smog and pollution int he process.
I kid you not, he’s allowing the sale of E15 gas - which has 15% ethanol content that will cause severe damage to high compression engines - during the summer months. EPA banned that practice years ago in order to reduce summer haze and smog issues.
What a despicable old cretin this clown is.
But hey, we haven’t had any mean tweets in over a year now, and isn’t life so much better as a result?
Oh, wait…
Yesterday, the White House had no choice but to acknowledge what we’ve all known for months now: That inflation is out of control, and this administration has not the slightest clue what to do about it.
Ok, they didn’t exactly admit that second part, but we’ve all known that for months, too, haven’t we? Sure we have; even you Democrat dimwits know it your heart of hearts even if you can’t wrap your tiny brains around it.
The 41-year high rate of inflation was all the news for all of an hour or so, when, as seems to so consistently happen whenever the DC Swamp needs to change the news cycle, this took place:
So totally predictable: A guy who was on the FBI’s radar as a potential terrorist threat shoots up a public place, injuring 29 innocent people in the process. Miraculously, no one was killed.
Oh, and naturally, the security cameras on the subway platform were conveniently out of commission at the time. Just like when Epstein didn’t kill himself in a federal prison.
And just like that, no one in the media was talking about runaway inflation anymore. Like magic.
No one will be talking about this shooting anymore very soon, either, since this guy is the suspect:
He doesn’t fit the Democrat/media’s preferred narrative, and so the Swamp will move on to some other story by Friday. Hell, they’ll probably move on today. That’s how all this works, folks.
Meanwhile, over at CNN, something else we all knew would happen was happening:
I told you this hilariously stupid effort was doomed to fail before it was launched, and now it’s failing. Miserably. Go figure.
Here’s an excerpt from a story at Axios:
Investment and projections for CNN+ are expected to be cut dramatically in response to a low adoption rate, two sources tell Axios.
By the numbers: The news giant was initially planning to invest around $1 billion in the service over the next four years.
Hundreds of millions of dollars are expected to be cut from that original investment total.
To date, around $300 million has been spent on the subscription service, which includes a sizable marketing investment.
The new company's leadership team still has yet to decide the ultimate fate of CNN+. CNN's new boss, Chris Licht, will start May 1.
…
Between the lines: Hiring has been frozen at WarnerMedia for the past six weeks, and this has been felt at CNN.
One top executive notes that there is a sense of confusion internally as to why CNN didn’t push back the launch of CNN+ until after the Discovery merger.
The launch felt rushed in order to stake a claim over the service and the network's future ahead of the merger, the source said.
What's next: It's unclear whether top CNN+ executives, like CNN+ boss Andrew Morse, will continue to stay with the company if resources for the service are dramatically reduced or cut.
[End]
In all seriousness, has anyone ever made a worse move than insipid commie Chris Wallace made when he resigned from Fox News to move over to CNN? The man bet his entire career on the notion that millions of Americans would actually pay money to watch shows hosted by his fellow commie news-fakers who can’t draw half a million to watch their shows for free.
Man, it just could not happen to a nicer commie. You go, Chris.
There was even more shocking on Tuesday:
Ok, well, it’s a Democrat arrested for taking bribes. The shock is not that he was taking bribes, it’s that someone in law enforcement actually arrested him for doing so. I mean, the man is a Democrat. He’s supposed to be protected here. What’s up in New York?
Today’s Elon Musk Update!:
This story tells us all we need to know about why Twitter was a shit-show of censorship and depravity long before Musk took any interest in it.
Here’s an excerpt:
The uncertainty left Twitter workers feeling “super stressed” about the future, with employees reportedly “working together to help each other get through the week.”
The report cited interviews with Twitter employees who asked not to be identified while discussing the company’s inner workings. Several employees told the outlet that Twitter’s internal environment was a “s–t-show” after Musk’s deal with the board fell through.
One Twitter employee griped that Musk was likely ‘just getting started” with pushing for change at the company – a development the worker described as “unfortunate,” according to Bloomberg.
[End]
Another story on the matter said that Twitter management was offering many of its entitled, stressed snowflakes free days off so that they could try to collect their emotions and obtain counseling before resuming their “work” responsibilities.
You just cannot make this stuff up folks. You just can’t.
That is all.
