Where Does the House GOP Go From Here?

Ok, so, Matt Gaetz gets his way, as he and 7 fellow Republicans disaffected with Kevin McCarthy’s performance as speaker team up with all House Dems to oust McCarthy from the job.

So, what’s next? Gaetz himself apparently doesn’t have a clue. When asked by reporters after the ouster of McCarthy who the new speaker should be, Gaetz said, I kid you not, “I have no idea.”

If that is not classic Republican planning and forethought, I don’t know what is. Frankly, I’m still laughing out loud about it. It’s perfect.
