This will be brief, but I think it’s important to note the significance of the verdict last Friday in the manslaughter case against Alec Baldwin.
First, I have no personal use for Alec Baldwin. I think he’s a lousy human being whose public behavior indicates he’s an abusive father and careless handler of firearms at best. He is a pretty good actor, or at least he was early in his career. I can’t say I’ve watched anything he’s appeared in in several years now. Maybe not in this century, come to think of it.
All that having been said, I was happy when I read about the judge’s decision to dismiss his case on Friday. Why? Because it demonstrates that some real justice still does exist in the United States.
The judge’s decision, for those who missed it, was based on the fact that the prosecutor in the case - an aggressive, ambitious lady who obviously has little regard for proper procedure - illegally withheld key evidence from the defense until midway through the trial. That action by the prosecutor clearly violated Baldwin’s constitutional right to a fair trial, thus creating what should be an automatic reason for dismissal.
Is Baldwin guilty of manslaughter or even negligent homicide? Maybe, but we will never know now because our constitution protects us all - or it should - from double jeopardy, meaning Baldwin is immune from another prosecution on the same charges.
This dismissal is something every thinking American who values his or her freedoms should celebrate, regardless of any personal opinions we might carry about Alec Baldwin.
By the same token, the constant violations of all these same principles and many more by the prosecutors and corrupt judges who have persecuted Donald Trump in the Biden lawfare effort to jail his opposition should be roundly condemned by every thinking American who values his or her freedoms.
Because, if they can do it to Donald Trump, they can certainly do it to any of us. Alec Baldwin is one of the lucky ones who stumbled onto an honest judge.
That is all.
Trump said it best. Whether it is the unending judicial warfare against him or the shot fired from the kid who miraculously and conveniently was killed before he could be arrested and interrogated, these people are coming for YOU - Trump is just standing in the way.
Not only can and will they, but in my own case -- starting 22 years ago -- already did, nearly costing my life from extreme abusive conditions in Texas jails/prisons in 2000, 2006, again in 2009, and yet again in 2017. Starting with falsified/doctored "evidence," denial of the rights to assistance of counsel or to call witnesses in my defense, up to and including no evidence whatsoever of any crime having taken place, ever; other than by sheriffs who a district judge falsely declared to have "sovereign immunity" from prosecution for their very real crimes against my life, liberty and property!
