Great analysis Dave. I agree with the entire article, and I rarely do that. I really like DeSantis. But, for the times we live in at present, I like Trump more. I don't think DeSantis is quite ready yet, and your analysis, whether intended or not, confirms my fears. Ron DeSantis slogan should be: He'll be great, IN '28!!! :)

I don't think he should run now. He has plenty of time and now this will just turn into a cat fight with the Dems sitting back and watching.

I DO BELIEVE that if Trump would come out and admit he was hoodwinked by FRaUdci and Birx and those still left there when he was in office and got him to make decisions....if he would say the jab was a bad idea he just didn't realize what was happening behind the scenes (which we all know about now) he would win (well if he can despite the rigged elections lately) hands down!!

Yuuuuuuge disappointment with DeSantis. Channeling in 2023 a 1933 FDR chat over the radio to the public; I guess he will make up for it if they hold debates, where I can see him deftly handling Trump.

WOW, that really came out of the blue to hear last night DeSantis was running for president! Who would have thunk it.

I thought last night was fine. As a test run it doesnt have to be a huge event. Its no different than Trumps ego rally speeches he gives that are scripted and immediately lose substance when he veers off his points.

Instead DeSantis gave his pitch to whomever was listening. Laid it out in a new venue piece and said take it at what its worth. I liked the names of peoppe that were included in the call. People that were actually doing things over the past few years while Trump was complaining were participating in the event indirectly pledging support to a new guy in the ring. Thats definitely something.

With not too much money on the line at first it seemed to work out as he got 1 million in donations in the first hour after. In time he can still venture into the off the cuff remarks but if Trump is gonna be a pansy and not debate it won't help out Ron. We need the two of them side by side to compare policy, and aptitude. Doubt Trump will opt to be embarrassed by a protoge.

There are still many months to go. And Ron running wasnt much of a surprise, so a lackluster announcement is "meh". Even if it is scripted he sounds better than Trump.

Ron taking over the Trump crowd isnt up to Ron. Theyre too far in the sand. Its entirely down to Trump to show he doesnt have it anymore and people will realize Ron is the better choice naturally. This will be one stupid primary.

Brandon, we voted for Trump in 2016 and 2020. Fortunately, not all Trump supporters have their heads in the sand. We will see if others feel the same. Trump had good policies and we felt safer as a nation during his presidency. But, it is time for some one new. Especially, with the politicization of our once prestigious three letter agencies and continuous bias local and cable media outlets. There are many months to go. We will see what happens. Fingers crossed! Never trust polling.

Maybe we should just vote for JFK JR in primary to get Biden/ Harris and their silent partner out of office, at least “if conservatives lose” we will have somewhat of a mentally competent person in White House. It is going to be long primary season.

At least DeSantis is trying to block foreign entities, like China from buying up American real estate in Florida hidden in LLC’s and other shell companies. That would be just one of his great assets, saving American land and industries from foreign countries, especially China. For over thirty years, corporations have slowly been selling out America to China and other foreign countries. Even the damn offshore wind farms being built in Atlantic Ocean are ran by foreign companies. Enough, we need a President that will hold auction bids to American enterprises and save America from greedy corporations. I am capitalize, but not at expense of selling out our country. Do you think in 1857, Anhauser-Busch believed their company would be sold to Belgium and ran by a Brazilian with China buying in 27%.? We desperately need an American First candidate.
