Powerful stuff. I think it would read better if he had left out the stuff about controlling the weather. That will push him over into propeller head territory for a lot of people. And I don't agree with him about abortion, but being pro-gun and pro-abortion always leaves me without a political home.

This year, Trump is a vastly better choice than the alternative.

I was raised Catholic and attended a Catholic elementary school run by nuns. After high school (in the 70s) I became agnostic, but then a few years later I discovered Hugh Ross at Reasons to Believe, and I am now a believing Christian but not a Catholic.

I am always amazed (and disgusted) at how many Catholics still vote for Democrats. If I am not mistaken, a majority of them voted for Obama. How in the world can they square that with being Catholic?

By the way, "Trump is Hitler" thing is not just hyperbole. It is a classic case of projection and a reversal of the truth. I recently wrote an essay to set the record straight:

National Socialism is NOT Right-Wing

How the deceptive mislabeling of fascism and Nazism distorts modern politics

The voting patterns of American Catholics have always been a bit of a mystery to me for the reasons you point to and more. I am similarly flummoxed in every election cycle by the Jewish vote going to Democrats by even bigger margins. I mean, I understand the history behind these dynamics, as well as the demographic factors that influence the Catholic vote in favor of the Dems.

But still, if one is a true adherent of either religion and has open eyes about what the Democrats really stand for, it just makes no sense at all.

I think many Catholics have bought into the notion that Jesus was essentially a socialist. Jesus told us to help the poor, but he never advocated for government welfare programs for the poor. There's a big difference, but I think many Catholics miss it.

I read an article a while back saying that the Catholic church gets huge government funding as an NGO to help illegal aliens resettle. In other words, they are essentially getting paid off to promote illegal immigration.

When the pope and other Catholics claim that an open border is a moral imperative, I would like to ask them why they don't open the Vatican and their rectories and invite the "undocumented" in to live there.

I don't agree with every word of this, but 99% rings true. I am a conservative Catholic and what the Pope has done to this man is just outrageous. His warnings must be heard

I wonder what Joe Biden, a Catholic thinks. Oh, wait, he doesn’t/cant.

Well, you know, it could just be a very large, meandering nutshell. :)

The Archbishop certainly identifies the issues. I’ve always been intrigued by the voting of Catholics and Jews - it’s paradoxical and confusing from a beliefs and philosophical point of view. But this expose may change the way I view the Catholic leadership.
