They’re tainted now; everyone knows this is totally bogus as was FJB’s entire “presidency”. They’ll never wash off the stench of “Joe Biden”.

May they live out their miserable, self-centered lives in ignominy.

One silver lining to this dark cloud: at least now full-blown congressional hearings can go forward without witnesses being able to clam up under the Fifth Amendment. Republicans should schedule these hearings ASAP.

Absolutely correct. Plus, Rand Paul will want to crank up his COVID investigation now, with Fauci is the prime witness.

I'm thankfully not an attorney (I have enough problems or my own) but I don't believe these pardons protect against civil actions and boy are there some here... also, these folks should all be subpoenaed immediately as I am pretty sure their fifth amendment protection is now not exercisable.

And this pardon notwithstanding, I wonder if they can call Miley back to active duty and court martial him...

What cannot happen is that we say, "well damn, I guess they got away with it" and memory hole it.

I want Fauci broke, disgraced and living in section 8 housing.

Nevertheless Congress should still hold hearings to condemn those creeps. He can’t protect them from Congressional findings.

Regarding Milley, not sure if treason is pardonable. For this entire group of criminals, not sure if preemptive pardons for crimes that may have been committed are legal and will stand after being challenged. The pardon count a few days ago stood at 4,900 must have hit 5,000 by now. Will we get to see the list of names of all those pardoned eventually?

As near as I can tell...pardons cannot be issued without being charged with a crime. Therefore, the latest pardons are just for show. And to challenge the incoming administration. No such thing, in real life, as a "get out of jail free" card.

SCOTUS has unequivocally held that acceptance of a presidential pardon is an admission that one is guilty of a crime. See, Burdick v. United States, 236 U.S. 79, 91-94(1915):

“confession of guilt implied in the acceptance of a pardon”;

“[A pardon] carries an imputation of guilt; acceptance a confession of it”;

“a pardon, requiring him to confess his guilt in order to avoid a conviction of it.”

Watching the inauguration ceremony. Fox's camera was on Jill Biden for quite a while after she entered with Emhoff.

She mouths something to someone off to the left.

I lipread it as, "You can pay me later."

"CLEAN UP in Aisle DC, Cleanup in Aisle DC..."

16 years of Dem corruption I never expected to see go so far, so fast downhill to the disaster we're about to witness come to and end, if not exactly a righteous conclusion with JUSTICE FOR ALL that we deserve.

Any idea when podcasts like Ruthless and M. Kelly are starting their live coverage? Suggestions for who to watch besides them?

Edit: Looks like I misunderstood them in their previous casts. They don't appear to be doing live coverage. Probably attending and then commenting afterwards.

Ruthless and Megyn Kelly are the two I follow every day. I also consume Hugh Hewitt's segment/double segment clips, but he has now moved to afternoons. I know both are going to be doing live episodes from the inauguration today at some point.

Finally, the two-way podcast with Mark Halperin and Sean Spicer is always informative. Its Morning Meeting generally kick off at 8:00 a.m. CT.

What is going on with Dan Turrentine's smile? Oh, my, gosh. He speaks well, but when he sits there and grins, it's frightening.

Thank you. Apparently Ruthless and Kelly have invitations to be at the inauguration (not together, as far as I know).

I read how a presidential pardon in the United States applies only to federal offenses, as outlined in Article II, Section 2 of the Constitution. This means that a pardon issued by the President does not extend to violations of state laws, which remain under the jurisdiction of state authorities. So, is it possible some state Attorney Generals might take standing for some offenses and bring actions against people regardless of the "federal" pardon?
