I served on the commissioning crew of the USS Texas (CGN-39) which had brief duty between 1977 and sometime during the Clinton administration. All of the Virginia class nuclear cruisers were decommissioned when they went in for their first refueling. The state of Texas threw us a huge party in Galveston shortly after she was commissioned.

Thank you for your service!
Isn’t the USS Texas the sister ship of the USS Arizona?
USS Texas's sister ship is the USS New York: https://www.google.com/search?q=uss+texas+sister+ships&oq=USS+Te&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUqBggAEEUYOzIGCAAQRRg7MhIIARAAGBQYgwEYhwIYsQMYgAQyCggCEAAYsQMYgAQyBwgDEAAYgAQyBwgEEAAYgAQyDwgFEAAYFBiHAhixAxiABDIHCAYQABiABDIHCAcQABiABDIGCAgQRRg50gEIMTc0NGowajGoAgCwAgA&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8
Fabulous!
Beautiful, but careful how you point that midship gun before you fire it...
My Son and I take a trip to Galveston every year. We may have to add a new attraction...
Very cool. TY!
