Bottom line for me is that Mr. McConaughey, like Mr. Neeson, has made a lot of money with guns in his acting career. When I see these people not starring in roles brandishing weapons, then I will take them a little more seriously. I have no doubt he genuinely cares about what has happened. But, he must first walk the walk as well as talk the talk.

I haven’t followed MM’s gun policy positions closely, but I did hear he favors some kind of limits on who can own an AR-style firearm. This is a fundamental lack of understanding of the purpose of the 2A. These AR-style firearms are exactly what must NEVER be restricted by the government in any way, because they are the primary weapon We the People have to defend ourselves from a tyrannical government. The government doesn’t really need to take all of our guns, just the ones that would be most effective at preventing them from abolishing the Constitution and enslaving us, namely semiautomatic rifles and pistols with detachable magazines. MM is a great actor and a Christian, but he needs to stay out of politics.

The problem is not with more 'gun' laws. There is not one new law which would have prevented any of the shooting massacres in the past. I'm not actually sure that anything would've prevented any of these events. I do know that restricting the 2A is not the answer, just a means for the left to eventually seize the protection afforded the law-abiding citizens against the criminals in our society. Including the government criminals within our system who are more than willing to have us at their mercy when they decide to completely shut down the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

Mr. McConaughey is right to be upset at he Uvlade tragedy, I am as well, but further restraints on the 2A is not the answer. What is? Possibly paying more attention to those who broadcast on social media their intentions to cause harm via any means they can muster. Look for the nutjobs on the various sites, then proceed with due diligence to ascertain the seriousness of their statements. Most of the perps in the shootings made their intentions fairly obvious and easy to see on their personal sites. Look at that info and follow up on it. Just sayin'.

Love me some MM, but he's simply wrong here. I'm glad he didn't run and I hope he never does. I don't want to hate him and the day he turns into a politician is the day I will.

The last thing we need is to be lectured by another Hollywood star who lives in Ivory Towers, despite being a native of Uvalde. McConaughey has no reference to reality because of the life he lives. He is an actor, his job is to display false emotion, false empathy, false trust. The fact that he believes his status of being a native of Uvalde gives him a superior voice, is ridiculous. He is just another emotional opinion, not backed with any data, any experience and without the understanding of the most simple element, guns are inanimate objects and tools, they are incapable of inflicting harm without a human. The issue isn't guns, it is humans and the left refuses to see reality.
