I’ve had this impression since I first started paying attention to such things as a grade school student in the 60’s. Much of what I heard then seemed contrary to America’s best interests and the media bias was obvious to me even then.

Up through the 80s the media may have come by their bias more or less honestly. Maybe until the 2000s.

I talked to a reporter friend of mine about their coverage whenever someone tried to cut "social" programs. This was shortly after Reagan.

She pointed out that they're always instructed to go get a "human interest" story. That is, find someone they can interview who is affected by the story so that the audience has a human to relate to.

Of course, this "human interest" policy puts a thumb on the scale of even handedness whenever you report on trying to balance the budget.

But after the 80s, the laws limiting how many media outlets any one person could own were out the window, so directed bias became much easier to accomplish.

I always keep in mind that the demonrat party was the one which has resisted the abolishment of slavery since prior to the civil war up until the civil rights act. Then their resistance went underground via the welfare scheme resulting in fatherless homes and rampant poverty in the large blue cities. Always the Ds, one form or another, in favor of destroying this nation.

Won't even get into the border issue and how they benefited via NGOs by pushing for open borders. Enough. MAGA.
