Why does Canada not have a problem with drug related deaths ? They can keep it out of Canada but not the US? How does that work😳

They do have a problem, similar in size to the US, proportionate to population.

Doomberg made a good point about Canadian drug shipments: nobody with brains tries to smuggle through border checkpoints when there's a couple thousand miles of unmonitored wilderness borderlands they can just hike across.

Pretty sure there's a solution for that.

If Sec Homan wishes to provide me a CBP badge and remote Rocky Mtn cabin on the border with Starlink access, then I'm more than willing to do my part to defend America from Canadian fentanyl.

I'll even bring my own firearm.

It would take a lot of people to stop drones from flying across 5500 miles at night. You like to go out at night instead of getting a good night's sleep?

They just use drones to fly drugs across the border, they're cheap and hard to spot, you can fly them at night, drop the package, nobodies any the wiser. The best chance for interdiction is on the U.S. side by looking for the pickup vehicles.

Worse than that, the shipping containers arriving in our western ports directly from China are not thoroughly searched (if they're searched at all), and the province of BC is notably lax in checking outgoing shipments (rail, truck, sea).

I flew home from BC a few weeks ago. At the local airport on Vancouver Island one of the gate agents found an unattended bag. It was a tiny prop plane and she asked all of us (who had already gone through security) to identify it so they could tag it before placing it in the plane.

Nobody identified it.

She put it in the plane anyway.

If this had been an American airport, TSA and CBP would have called in the bomb and drug dogs and we'd never have left.

An excellent Canadian (independent) investigative reporter / journalist, Sam Cooper (thebureau@substack.com), has done some excellent work over the years on this issue and - most recently - has published a few articles tying Mexican cartels (yes, in Canada) to money laundering https://www.thebureau.news/p/trade-based-money-laundering-is-the?r=249yjv&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web&showWelcomeOnShare=false

No border patrol reports, nothing from the BC government, the RCMP, or anyone official for that matter on what's being done to put a stop to it.

If President Trump has people keeping an eye on that rats' nest, small wonder he's upping the ante on tariffs.

Thank you!

I have a couple of Canadians I like to read for these perspectives but I always like more. Much appreciated. @Doomberg has the best readers.

Trump needs to use his f'in brain and just put that trade dispute on hold until the coming Canadian election within 3-6 months.

Now the corrupt Liberal party, with their new anointed leader flown in straight from the WEF/Davos, are making the Trump tariffs their one issue, and its bloody working. Their polling has jumped like 3X. Just great, Trump is going to ensure Canada is going to be a left wing, Globalist, anti-populist, Climate Change fanatical Tyranny, a failed state, maybe complete with a UN or EU army. Probably will join the EUSSR, where they cancel elections and appoint "democratic" unelected leaders. Instead of having a populist, nationalist, anti-Green Agenda government under conservative Pierre Poilievre.

As an aside their is zero doubt that Bankster creep Mark Carney was installed as Lib leader. Trudeau banned a popular women of color from running for the leadership while claiming Americans elected Trump two times due to misogyny against Kamala & Hilary. And they used Dominion voting machines for the leadership vote whose results just stink, flatly impossible, a pretty much constant 75-86% in every riding. A statistical impossibility. With some 1/3rd of votes curiously rejected, with no explanation.
