In this week’s Bonus Hour of Tales From the Idiocracy, David Blackmon and WACV 93.1 Radio Legend Greg Budell take a look at the maddening events of the current week.
Decades ago I was discussing affirmative action with an old Texas hill country goat rancher and here is roughly what he had to say:
"The problem with affirmative action is it isn't good for minorities either. If I go to my attorney and he tries to assign a black attorney to my work I'm going to yell at him, "Jim, don't try to pawn off any of your affirmative action crap hires on me."
That guy might be the best thing to ever come out of Harvard, but because of affirmative action, I can't trust that he's qualified and have no way of knowing."
So it goes with DEI. Any given DEI hire might be the best thing in the world, but they're all tainted by unwarranted favoritism and this taints both the qualified and unqualified alike.
