They are unwittingly setting up the biggest double cross in American political history -- against the Left. Once they martyrize Trump and he endorses De Santis (or vice versa -- depending on the legal situation) the GOP will unite against the demonic Left and win the Black vote as well
Your assessment of this makes sense. The democrat-fascist party (my label for Democrats) doing this will ensure that The Donald is elected in 2024. While I wish that The Donald wouldn't run again and let a younger candidate take his place, I will VOTE FOR HIM if he is on the ballot in 2024.
When this fails, the democrat-fascist party may even try more extreme measures to prevent his running in 2024 including assassinating him. They are scared that he will expose the corruption the democrat-fascist party, deep state republicans & bureaucrats are engaged in.

When they changed the rules in the US Senate several years ago to get their way, it came back to bite them when they lost their majority. Arresting The Donald ensures that when they are no longer in the majority, that O'Biden will be arrested for bribery & corruption upon leaving office.
