Thursday's Absurdity of the Day: The Madness of Queen Nancy
Proving my view that today’s Democrats are incapable introspection and change to be correct, San Fran Nan is responding to Tuesday’s Red Wave election by doubling down on failure. She spent all day Wednesday forcing her committee chairmen to add provisions back into the “reconciliation” bill that have already been rejected by Joe Manchin, Kyrsten Sinema, and which the Sock Puppet excluded from his failed “framework” gambit last week.
Here’s an excerpt from a report at The Hill:
Frustrated House leaders instead pressed their foot on the gas pedal, pledging to bring both the Senate-passed infrastructure package and social safety net bill to the floor.
The House Rules Committee, which is controlled by Pelosi, was meeting Wednesday evening on a still-evolving 2,135-page Build Back Better bill that was revised to include new immigration, tax, prescription drug pricing and other provisions.
Pelosi announced earlier in the day that House Democrats were putting four weeks of permanent paid family and medical leave back in the package, much to the chagrin of Manchin.
[End]
Manchin and Sinema aren’t the only congressional Democrats chagrined about Pelosi’s renewed madness - so-called “moderates” in Pelosi’s own House caucus are starting to rebel as well.
Here’s another excerpt from that story:
A handful of moderates, led by Rep. Stephanie Murphy (D-Fla.), are demanding a score from the Congressional Budget Office on the social spending bill before they agree to vote for it.
“Her well of confidence remains undiscovered by all of us who seek it,” said one moderate Democrat.
“There is risk because it’s got to pass the floor here, and then once it gets to the Senate, it’s got to survive over there,” said a second House Democrat. “It shows how much everybody wants to see movement.”
[End]
Pelosi knows that this Frankenstein version of the fake “reconciliation” bill can never pass the senate. Hell, she knows that CBO most likely will rule that it doesn’t even qualify to be considered under the senate reconciliation rules that would allow it to be passed with a simple majority vote.
But at this point, she obviously doesn’t care. She has obviously decided that the only way to get something, anything accomplished for her personal legacy here is to just allow her America-hating lunatic caucus to have their vote on reconciliation, even if she knows doing that will ultimately kill the bill in the senate. Her calculation is that, once the fake reconciliation bill goes down in flames, she will at least be able to then pass the bi-partisan $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill.
I believe Queen Nancy’s seeming madness here in fact means that ongoing rumors that she plans to announce her retirement once congress adjourns for the year are true. If it all works out the way she seems to be rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic right now, she will be able to point to the fact that both bills passed the House and take credit for that; blame Manchin and Sinema for the failure of the reconciliation bill; and claim the infrastructure bill as a part of her legacy as Speaker.
Yes, it all represents a death knell for the Biden agenda and her party’s chances in the 2022 mid-term elections, but that’s all something that is already inevitable anyway. It’s also something a retired Pelosi will no longer have to worry about as she sits in her $25 million San Francisco mansion snarfing down the designer ice cream housed in her $30,000 refrigerator/freezers.
The seeming Madness of Queen Nancy makes perfect sense when you understand its underlying motivations.
That is all.
