We have seen this story before. The year was 2010, and Barack Hussein Obama had signed Obamacare into law. That bill nationalizing the nation’s healthcare insurance system had been passed on strict party-line votes in each house of congress, without a single Republican vote. The Dems had bet their party’s future on socialized medicine, believing that addicting millions more Americans to insurance provided by the government would accrue to their benefit in the long run.
And they were right, as things have turned out, even though the cost in the mid-term Red Wave election was huge.
Now, it’s 2022, and the Dems are betting their party’s future again. This time, the bet is that throwing trillions of subsidy dollars at three “green” energy industries - wind, solar, and electric vehicles - will do the trick on their planned “energy transition” and ultimately accrue to their party’s benefit, even if the immediate costs in this year’s mid-term elections is another Red Wave.
Old Joe Biden signed the Orwellian-named “Inflation Reduction Act” into law on Wednesday, meaning another $350 billion or so of American wealth will be transferred to those three rent-seeking industries over the next decade. Yes, the bill will only exacerbate the inflation problem; yes, everyone’s home heating and electric bills will go higher; yes, gasoline will cost more and more and more.
But hey, insurance premiums have exploded since the passage of Obamacare, but Democrats know the voters they target are too dimwitted to make the connection between the cause and the effect. Likewise, they believe that millions of Americans will place great value on being able to signal their virtue about driving their new EV or claiming (falsely) to be using only “green” electricity, and will reward Democrats for giving that to them, even if it came at great added expense.
Sadly, they’re probably right about that, too. Democrats believe most Americans are ignorant and dimwitted because their party’s 200-year existence has proven that to be the case time after time after time.
And so, we will have our Red Wave election this year, but memories will quickly begin to fade and the virtue signaling about spending $20,000 more for that EV than you’d have paid for a gas-powered car will become a fad and the Dems will be just fine in future elections.
If it all seems so inevitable, that’s only because we have seen this all before.
Let’s move on…
Speaking of the “Inflation Reduction Act,” Joe Manchin is already scrambling to backtrack on the false promises he and Chuck Schumer have made about it:
Liars, damn liars, and Democrats. Some of life’s truths are forever.
This could be fun:
I am laughing out loud at this story.
Here’s an excerpt:
Some allies of former President Donald Trump are urging him to publicly release surveillance footage of FBI agents executing a search warrant on his Mar-a-Lago residence, a proposal that has drawn mixed reaction inside his orbit, CNN has learned.
The CCTV footage has been so closely held that aides to the former President aren't sure if he has seen it in full himself, said a person close to Trump.
"I don't think it's been shared by anyone outside of the attorneys," this person said.
Yet when asked earlier this week by Fox's Sean Hannity whether the footage would be released, Trump's son Eric said, "Absolutely Sean, at the right time. "
Some of Trump's aides and allies have encouraged the former President to make some of the footage available to the public, believing it could send a jolt of energy through the Republican Party's base. One person familiar with the conversations said there have been discussions about featuring the August footage in campaign-style ads, believing the footage could bolster Trump's claims of political persecution.
Another person close to Trump said it's not a matter of if the former President and his team release any of the footage, but when, noting it could be released before he makes a campaign announcement.
[End]
Think about it: How inept must the FBI truly be that it couldn’t even figure out how to deactivate the security cameras at Mar-a-Lago? Holy crap.
Release the tapes, Mr. President. Please.
Our America is a Banana Republic Update for today:
Unbelievable. Remember, this “kidnapping” was basically planned and carried out by a dozen FBI operatives. So, of course the judge in the case is working overtime to put the defense of the few participants who weren’t employed by the FBI at a distinct disadvantage. Surreal.
This is an actual headline at yesterday’s Washington Post:
Let’s all remember that both Bill and Hillary Clinton and dozens of people who worked for them all took the 5th in depositions or open testimony, and no one at the Washington Post uttered a peep of protest or concern. But Trump does it while fighting an obvious witch hunt by an obviously corrupt New York prosecutor, and it’s suddenly cause for disqualification.
Democracy dies in media corruption like this.
That is all.
Release the video Mr President! It’s very difficult to accept that many Americans have been so successfully dumbed down that they have no memory of the mentioned past dirty tricks & continue to be the victims of Dimocrats.
