Actually, I am going to disagree with you concerning Mitch McConnell. He has shown himself to be a master strategist. Case in point, because of him we have three young conservative associate justices on the Supreme Court. That alone makes me a supporter. With 74 days to the November election Blake Masters is running 8 points behind Mark Kelly and while that spread could be made up current polling does not support that happening. Additionally, they only cut half of the financial support not all of it so it's not like leaving Masters twisting in the wind. Shifting money around is always done during these campaigns, in order, to best position the party to win or maintain the majority. In fact, the democrats have already done the same thing. As an example, look at how much money (28 million) republicans are jacking into the Ohio race between J. D. Vance and Tim Ryan where Vance currently has a slight lead. I and McConnell want the same thing, a Republican Senate majority and if cutting funding for Masters in an iffy race to win in Ohio makes that happen, I am all in.
GOP internal polling in AZ has that as a 4 point race. Why do you do internal polling if you don't trust it? Mitch would like a GOP majority if it was made up of his people. He doesn't want a majority if it means 3-4 new non-Swamp dwellers. He'd much rather deal with Mark Kelly.
Four points is still behind and as I said earlier it can be made up which I think is why the GOP did not pull all the funding and yes, I think McConnell would prefer having "his people" in place which is what we would all want. Bottom line I believe he would be more than willing to take a couple more squishes like Romney and Murkowski than not have the majority.
The battle harden General Trump will slow the socialist war by liberal radicals and will drag screaming and crying republicans across the media to the elections in November.
Governor DeSantis, as good as he is in saving Florida til now, is facing an uphill battle of an influx of wealthy liberal thinkers from the blue states, as they have discovered new fertile ground to plant/spread climate control logic. His current battle is a far cry from facing the DC alligators should he elect to join the national run for president against Trump.
